For the first ever electronic music show on Pennsylvania Ave, Chris Lake is bringing his eclectic discography to our GLOW Block Party. A long-time friend of Club GLOW, Chris has played with us starting at Fur Nightclub, to Soundcheck, to Echostage, Project GLOW, and now the first artist we ever host on Penn Ave. Being a pioneer in the house scene, known for bringing tech-house to the masses, there isn’t a better artist we could think of that serves our mission of creating unforgettable moments in the District.

We can’t wait to bring the iconic Pennsylvania Avenue to life for a one-day affair, where we turn one of DC’s most legendary streets into the biggest party the city has ever seen. With a world-class stage layout that complements the surrounding buildings, local vendors providing the best bites and art the area has to offer, art installations, and so much more, for one night only the street becomes the dance floor.

See you on Saturday, April 18th for an event that has been a long time in the making, as we bring Chris Lake to our most iconic stage yet for our first ever Project Glow satellite party.

For Chris Lake, making people dance is more than a career: It’s an obsession. Over two decades, the GRAMMY®-nominated artist has become one of house music’s most compelling figures. In that time he’s lived many lives as a producer, DJ, and label head, all connected by his ability to create big moments both onstage and in his music. Since breaking through with a string of No. 1 singles in the late 2000s, Lake has helped redefine America’s house music scene in the post-EDM age. His music is a regular fixture on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, including recent hits “Summertime Blues”, “Beggin” and “More Baby”. He has headlined EDC Las Vegas and Coachella stages, shut down Hollywood Boulevard for over 12,000 fans, and spread the dance floor gospel through his Under Construction events with FISHER.

Following a groundbreaking Coachella Campgrounds performance, Lake is entering a bold new chapter with the release of his debut album Chemistry, released on July 11 via his label, Black Book Records that landed on at #6 and #10 on Spotify’s US and Global debut charts respectively.

“It gives me this increased love of the power of a single song and the effect that it can have on anyone’s life” he says. “I love the idea that I can make a song and give people that feeling. It’s just amazing, and I feel like as the years go on, I get better and better at doing it.”

We want people to be able to realise that the small joys, the ones we may take for granted, are as important (if not more) than the big moments in our lives. It’s small steps that help tackle big problems and actually help you realise that the big problem wasn’t as big or important as you thought. Musically we want people to feel something when they hear our songs. Doesn’t matter what, just something because that is joy. It’s truly feeling something and nothing else. The reason why we want Joy Anonymous to have the same inclusive feeling as other anonymous groups is to let people feel like they are part of a community, because we feel that is missing today (particularly in the West). Without community we feel lost and like the world is against us. But if you start with the small steps of appreciating your feelings, you will always be part of Joy Anonymous.
