We’re heading back to Pennsylvania Ave for the second edition of the GLOW Block Party; featuring Grammy-winning DJ and producer Diplo, tech house star Westend, singer/DJ Anabel Englund, breakout Monty Kiddo, and a cast of some of the best homegrown talent DC has to offer.

We can’t wait to bring the iconic Pennsylvania Avenue to life for a one-day affair, where we turn one of DC’s most legendary streets into the biggest party the city has ever seen. With a world-class stage layout that complements the surrounding buildings, local vendors providing the best bites and art the area has to offer, art installations, and so much more, for one night only the street becomes the dance floor. A destination mini-festival just steps from the Capitol, National Gallery of Art and National Archives, the second Club Glow Block Party is from 3-10pm.

See you on Saturday, October 3rd, as we transform a storied DC neighborhood into a historic dance party.

Over the course of a 20-year career that began with his now-legendary Philly club night Hollertronix, Diplo has collaborated with the world’s biggest stars and toured the world over. Born in Mississippi and raised in Florida, he and his era-defining labels Mad Decent and Higher Ground continue to champion genres and artists from around the world, and further ventures include a publishing company and various book, film and TV projects. The thirteen-time Grammy nominee is also a member of the iconic Major Lazer, one third of LSD — the psychedelic supergroup with Sia and Labrinth whose debut album has been streamed over 3 billion times—and half of Silk City with Mark Ronson — whose Platinum-certified, Grammy-winning “Electricity (with Dua Lipa)” topped charts worldwide. His latest releases include last year’s Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2 – Swamp Savant , his second album as country persona Thomas Wesley, 2022’s Diplo, his first full length album of electronic music in 18 years, and several Higher Ground singles.

Westend has emerged as one of house music’s most promising artists. The New York native’s everexpanding sonic footprint was instrumental in drafting the blueprint for the sound of modern tech house and helped usher in an era that has seen American artists once again push to the forefront of dance music culture. His ability to remain on the leading edge while staying true to the roots of house music has created peak dancefloor moments for ravers across the globe and led to releases on esteemed imprints like Repopulate Mars, Insomniac, Armada, and D4 D4NCE. As one of Beatport’s top ten best-selling tech house producers, hit records like 2021’s “Jumpin’ with fellow New Yorker CID—have not only spent weeks dominating the top of the charts, they’ve landed into the crates of MK, Diplo, Lee Foss, John Summit, and Sonny Fodera. Beyond his production prowess, Westend crisscrosses the country, regularly performing at festivals and clubs from EDC and CRSSD to Shambhala and The Brooklyn Mirage. In 2023 he made his first forays onto the international scene with gigs in Liverpool and a coveted slot on Insomniac’s kineticFIELD at EDC Mexico. Westend’s creativity is constantly expanding. His plans for the coming year include launching his label in late 2023 and embarking on his first solo headline tour. His remarkable journey from throwing micro-raves for New York high schoolers to headlining festival stages exemplifies how the DIY spirit of dance music continues to permeate the culture.

Anabel Englund’s sound is entrancing in its dichotomy; bright and carefree with her authentic Southern California breeziness. Other times she irresistibly alluring with her dark, smoldering touch.

The singer-songwriter explores the dynamics of that captivating contrast with her debut album Messing with Magic. The Los Angeles-based artist spent late 2019 and all of 2020 putting out singles from Messing With Magic leading into its formal release in December on MK’s AREA10 label with Ultra Records. Beyond two #1 US Dance Airplay singles “So Hot (MK & Nightlapse Remix)” and “Picture Us,” the album highlights a variety of dance floor friendly tracks and heartfelt compositions including singles like “Underwater” with MK, “Warm Disco” with Lee Foss and “See the Sky.”

There are a select few voices of house music that have paved their own pathway to legendary. Singer, songwriter & DJ Anabel Englund carries unforgettable, powerful melodies, and choruses to huge success.

With influences ranging from disco to funk, UKG, and of course, house, Chicago-based DJ Monty Kiddo has become a well-respected and sought-after name in the city’s house music scene. Coming from a household that regularly played country legends like Garth Brooks & Tim McGraw, Monty diverted on his own musical journey & discovered the sounds of disco, funk, & UK garage which would later influence his unique style of house music. While he’s been producing and DJing since 2017, Monty only recently got involved in the local scene and began playing live shows in 2021. Getting billed as his legal name Cody Kirby, the skill and passion for the craft was evident. His infectious energy and vibe curation quickly earned him bookings supporting industry pioneers such as Chromeo & SG Lewis. Sensing an opportunity to grow with newfound knowledge & experience, Monty Kiddo was born. A new moniker with the same energy and infectious sound. Monty Kiddo has quickly surged up as one of Chicago’s premier music selectors as he has been seen sharing stages with industry heavy weights such as ANOTR, LF System, PRUNK, Jungle and more. Monty Kiddo is a name to look out for heading into 2025.
