14-year-old Dutch dance music producer Erik Arbores has hit #1 in the Dutch iTunes store.
Feauturing three progressive house tracks, his ‘Take It’ E.P. is winning out over artists like David Guetta, Coldplay and Adele. Erik Arbores – Take It EP was released on Zouk Recordings [Armada Music] and features the tracks Bliss, Take It and Transit.
Erik van den Boom (whose real name is way better than his ‘Arbores’ stage name), was discovered on the Dutch TV show ‘De Wereld Draait Door’ earlier this year. He recently introduced over a million listeners to ‘Bliss.’
After learning piano at the age of four and teaching himself how to produce with Fruity Loops, Arbores (van den Boom – such a sick name!) finished high school by the age of 13! In addition to having the support of Armin van Buuren, Erik studies Applied Physics at the Delft University of Technology.
“I really like to mix genres and include several influences. I listen to lots of music, so that way I get my inspiration from different genres. I use dubstep beats in the break of a pop song for example. I like to experiment a lot, I use sound in another way than what it’s meant for, for instance.
