The music community is in mourning over the death of french DJ/Producer DJ Mehdi who died last night at the age of 34.
as reported by the Huffington post and the French site Liberation Next, the accident happened at DJ Mehdi’s home, when the mezzanine collapsed. Three others have been hospitalized.
Mehdi Faveris-Essadi, aka DJ Mehdi, was French-born and of Tunisian descent. He first gained x for his underground work in France’s hip hop scene, and started to really get noticed when he signed with French electro label Ed Banger Records. The young producer had collaborated with a number of big names, including MC Solarr, Daft Punk, Cassius, Carol King, and with Chromeo on his single “I Am Somebody,”.
If you were lucky enough to see DJ Mehdi live then you know why this is such a huge loss. He pushed musical boundries crossing over genres and captivating crowds all over the world. As an artist this hits home, He touched the lives and hearts from the biggest names in music and fans alike. You will be missed and our thoughts and prays go out to your family and friends.
